Come and see the new Full Moon Gallery Show!

 The new and exciting exhibit at the Full Moon Gallery is entitled "Human Form".   

This FMG show is a juried show, so I had to apply to get into the show, took the challenge,  painted like crazy, and entered five new pieces.  This is the first time these pieces have been seen out of my studio!  You are the first to see them!

The Gallery Show opens for the general public on January 27 with a Gallery Open House and Artist Reception from 5-7 p.m.  This juried show has some cutting edge and innovative new work by local artists. Come see exciting paintings and sculptures.  The show runs through April 22.

Bunnies!

 

I created four bunnies in watercolor for the Easter holiday and showed them at the Full Moon Gallery.  Fortunately I sold two, but have these (my favorites) left.  I named them Betty on top and Dotty (lower).  They are framed with a dark blue mat board, and a white frame.  Very fun!  (My images appear to have a different color in the background, but they are the same paper and background color)

SNEAK PEEK!

Just finished hanging the new Full Moon Gallery Show titled "Far and Wide".

These two cat paintings are new and hanging in the Lobby at 

Twin Falls Center for the Arts.

I was inspired to paint cats because of a stray in the neighborhood.  

She came by now and then, slept on the patio furniture and meowed at us while looking in through the windows, but scattered if we came near.  

She did the same at the neighbors.  

She has moved on, but her presence has inspired some painting images.  

I think she ranges "Far and Wide".

'Tis the Season...

Having fun trying new things this holiday season, along with some old favorites!

Got out my old sewing machine and did some free form stitching on canvas and paper. A good feeling getting my 40+ year old Bernina out of the closet for some new tricks.

I added Watercolor Ground to 4 "x 4" canvas supports and then painted fall and winter scenes in watercolor.  

Block printing on dish towels is a new way to work for me.  Those old fashioned cotton towels that we all used growing up are the best for drying dishes.  Now they can be pretty too!

 I mounted prints on wood supports and turned them into tree ornaments.  I have painted the Sun Valley Barn in many ways and seasons, but it seems like winter is the most fitting.

 The Takeoff!

I am so happy to announce that my painting The Takeoff has been juried into the annual Idaho Watercolor Society Show!  The painting along with the other forty-nine  semi-finalists will hang in the gallery at the BSU Student Union in June.  The judge,  Ted Nuttal, will be in Boise in early June to review the paintings and choose the top 20.  Awards will be announced virtually, and will be available on the IWS website.  

This is very exciting!   

PS.  I was painting along the the edges of Flat Creek on the outskirts of Jackson, WY when I was fortunate to see this swan ready for take off.  Happily, I had my camera in hand and got many shots as this beautiful bird took flight.  Somedays, you get lucky!
