New Work!

Had a wonderful crowd at the Full Moon Gallery opening last night!  It was good to see old friends and new.  Thanks for being there and wishing the artists well!

This watercolor piece, that is part of my "Wild" series, is hanging at the Twin Falls Center for the Arts in the lobby gallery.  I call it my "wild series" since I am using a new technique to add more flow and rhythm to my work and it gets a bit wild with ink going where it wants and dripping as I refill!  I use an India ink dropper to do the drawing and add dense watercolor to get the deep colors.  Drawing with a dropper does not let me get the tight drawings that I usually do and it loosens up the flowers.   I think gives them some movement and life.  More of this series to come in the future!

Festival of Giving

This painting is called First Snow.  It is on display at the Festival of Giving at the Southern Idaho Landscape Center as part of the fundraiser for local non-profits.  The Magic Valley Arts Council has sponsored a tree and the buyer will take home this painting as well!  The opening gala last night was very festive, beautifully decorated and it was so good to see old friends and meet some new ones!

New Release

A recent good time with friends over dinner and the good wine they provided was the motivation for this piece. The original intent was for an abstract, but detail took over and frankly the paint had its way.

Canyon Spring

Back from the snow and skiing up north to spring in the valley. The canyon is beginning to green up for the few months that it looks that way, and this view looking east is one of my favorites.
