New Work!

Looking ahead to Easter and painting an Easter bunny or two in my "Wild" style.   Still using India ink and watercolor as my medium of choice.  This bunny lives in the landscape just outside my studio window.  He sneaks in and out of the boxwoods and stays close.  He may end up at the Full Moon Gallery in the day or so!

Rosie's Riverside Trailer

Spent Tuesday painting with friends at Rosie's new getaway place on the Snake River.  As we wandered the property, I discovered this trailer parked on the river bank.  I had to paint it because it reminded me of the trailer that we had when our girls were little.  It brought back nice memories of camping on the North Fork of Deer Creek near Hailey.  This one is now a permanent resident on the river, and a getaway for Rosie's guests.

Mom's Coffee Creamer

Funny the treasures that remind us of home.  The silver jar with the spoon on the side was on the counter at my parents home for as long as I can remember.  It is a simple reminder of Mom.  She loved anything silver and used this daily to add powdered creamer to her coffee.  Nice memento.  The painting will hang in the dining room at Crossings Winery during the month of May.

Getting Ready

My entry for Art & Soul this year is called Morning Still.  The contest is in April, but had to get my entry in early, so am posting it now so that I can direct interested venue owners to the site for a look.  This piece is large (22" x 30") and is just a bit of whimsy after breakfast.  The duck usually resides in my husband's office, but was borrowed for this breakfast occasion.  I rather like him!

Holiday Coloring Cards

Love the Adult Coloring Book trend going on right now!  It inspired sets of globes to send out as holiday cards.  Send the cards just as they are or add your own coloring.  A gift either way.  I will have them on sale at the Gift Fair at Twin Falls Center for the Arts on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Jardin de Fleurs

I have wanted to dig back into my long stem series for a while and have combined the flowers from my front yard to create this bigger piece.  Somehow digging back into my high school French for flower paintings feels right.   This painting and others are on display at the Twin Falls Center for the Arts as part of the South Central Regional Idaho Watercolor Society Show.  Good fun and good comments last night at the opening!

Le Bouquet

Art and Soul of the Magic Valley starts tomorrow in Twin Falls.  Two full weeks of art on display all around town.  This is a pic of my entry for the contest.  I am fortunate to have my painting on display at Rosebud's Florist here in Twin Falls.  Nice people and a great store.  Desiree said she was going to do a look alike bouquet to display near my piece.  Cool huh!

Welcome to the World, Mae Lily

My new grandchild, Mae Lillian, arrived on January 19.  She is beautiful, has lots of hair, and is such a welcome addition to the family.  Her mom wanted a watercolor piece for Mae's room.  She wanted it to include some Lily of the Valley and this is what I came up with!  It is at the framer and will show up in Seattle as soon as it is framed!

The Kathy

Another entry in the Teacup Generation Series.  This cup is "The Kathy".  It tells the story of Kathy, the poet and creative multi-crafter!  The cup is one of her favorites in her collection of cups, and came from her mom's collection.
