Still Shoveling! Day 5 of the 30 in 30 Challenge

Good thing I learned how to handle a snow shovel growing up in ND!  We shoveled again today after the wind blew most of the snow we shoveled out yesterday back into our driveway.  We have three to four foot drifts!  Thanks to our good neighbors with 4wheelers  for their help in clearing the biggest drifts!

And on to the painting of the day!  Day 5 of the 30 in 30 Challenge.  And now I know why I chose Winter Scenes for the Challenge.  I think this snow is sticking around for a bit!

Festival of Giving

This painting is called First Snow.  It is on display at the Festival of Giving at the Southern Idaho Landscape Center as part of the fundraiser for local non-profits.  The Magic Valley Arts Council has sponsored a tree and the buyer will take home this painting as well!  The opening gala last night was very festive, beautifully decorated and it was so good to see old friends and meet some new ones!

Winter Is Here!

This series keeps coming back for more.  I did similar paintings last year and decided to have a go at the idea again since I am looking out my studio windows at early winter snow today.  This time I added some fall color since I am seeing grasses and berries pop up through the snow and I love the contrast.

Creekside

Hiked near the area around the SNRA Visitor Center and along Murdock Creek to get this view. The snow levels were low during the holidays, so we could get close to the creek. It should be gorgeous today since the snowstorm is dumping as we speak!
