New Work!

Had a wonderful crowd at the Full Moon Gallery opening last night!  It was good to see old friends and new.  Thanks for being there and wishing the artists well!

This watercolor piece, that is part of my "Wild" series, is hanging at the Twin Falls Center for the Arts in the lobby gallery.  I call it my "wild series" since I am using a new technique to add more flow and rhythm to my work and it gets a bit wild with ink going where it wants and dripping as I refill!  I use an India ink dropper to do the drawing and add dense watercolor to get the deep colors.  Drawing with a dropper does not let me get the tight drawings that I usually do and it loosens up the flowers.   I think gives them some movement and life.  More of this series to come in the future!

Coming to The Gallery Today?

Spring opening at The Gallery today.  The Gallery is a co-op that includes nearly 50 artists.  It is located in the Lynwood Shopping Center in Twin Falls.  Come by and check out the new work by local artists.  I will be there for part of the day and have just added cards and hand painted gift bags for Mother's Day if you are looking for something unique for that special MOM in your life.  Stop by and say hello!  Music from 4-8 p.m., and of course we will have those lovely European pastry treats to sample while you enjoy the art.

Poppies

Poppies! Soon to be everywhere.  This painting was done with a splash technique, and then I added detail.  It's part of the Flower Power Series that I'm working on.  Hard to resist as things start to bloom.
